Saving Thomas
is a band that has been birthed in the very heart, character, and charisma of Philadelphia and believe that real music from the soul is a language spoken by few but understood by many. They use hip-hop, jazz, indie rock, etc. as a way to share with their audience their experiences of sorrow, heartbreak, God, faith, love, identity, and other things that are all common to this generation.

The Asian Arts Initiative and Yellow Rage will also be in solidarity with the Cambodian community who are currently facing deportation. We want to build awareness about immigration and deportation issues and its impact in the APIA community here in Philadelphia.

If you have a piece you want to share, come at least 30 minutes before showtime, or sign up here!

Sulu DC + The Jubilee Project present a benefit concert featuring Rooftop Pursuit

Sulu DC, an underground network, home and monthly showcase of Asian American and/or Pacific Islander artists, and The Jubilee Project, a film collective whose mission is to make videos for a good cause, have teamed up to present a benefit concert on February 19th, 2011 at Artisphere in Arlington, VA.

Hosted by Jenny Lares, Sulu DC co-founder, and Eddie Lee, co-founder of The Jubilee Project, the benefit concert will showcase videos produced by The Jubilee Project that aim to raise awareness of issues impacting AAPI communities such as Hepatitis B, diabetes, and racial bullying. The concert also marks the EP release of Rooftop Pursuit and their first music video, produced by The Jubilee Project to benefit Hepatitis B education/awareness. Proceeds from ticket sales and additional donations will also benefit The Jubilee Project and allow them to produce more videos for good causes.
