East Meets Words, August 9th!
Hello beautiful people,
I'm very excited to announce that my next SHE Book reading/performance will be in Cambridge, MA, on Friday, August 9. I will feature at the East Meets Words Open Mic Series hosted by Boston Progress Arts Collective. The open mic is held each month at East Meets West Bookstore.
I'm also offering a workshop prior to the open mic: in the workshop, participants will be asked to explore and identify their performance philosophy. We will discuss, write, and share. My hope is that participants can expand their ideas of how they approach claiming a stage presence and establishing a relationship with an audience.
Here are the details: :)
WHAT: The SHE Book Tour/Feature at East Meets Words Open Mic Series
WHERE: East Meets West Bookstore, 934 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA
WHEN: Friday, August 9, 2013
TIME: Workshop: starts at 6pm; Open Mic: starts at 8pm
The workshop is being co-sponsored by Boston Progress Arts Collective and MataHari: Eye of the Day, a grassroots organization in Boston working with women of color, immigrant women, and families on a multitude of social justice and human rights issues, such as deportation, domestic violence, labor abuses, and human trafficking/sexual slavery. I am so honored to be working with both of these organizations. Please check out the Facebook event page and MataHari's website below:
